## Key Drivers (INSEE commentary)

> *"The increase in inflation should be driven by the sharp rebound in energy prices (+7.3% over a year after -2.9% in February), in particular those of petroleum products. Prices of services should accelerate slightly over a year, as should those of tobacco. Conversely, the prices of manufactured products should fall deeper than in February, and those of food should decelerate slightly over one year."*

> *"Over one month, consumer prices should increase by 0.9% in March 2026, after +0.6% in February. This increase in prices should be explained by higher energy prices, driven by the prices of petroleum products (diesel, petrol and liquid fuels). Food prices should increase slightly over one month, as should those of tobacco. Month on month, the prices of manufactured products should slow down compared to February, as should those of services."*

- **Coverage:** All households in France.
- **Weight 2026:** Relative importance of each category in the CPI basket for 2026.
