## Methodological notes (abridged)

- **Turnover index:** measures monthly changes of sales at current prices.
- **Turnover volume index:** derived by dividing the value index by a suitable price index.
- **Calendar adjustment:** adjusts for working days, holidays, leap years; base year 2021=100.
- **Seasonal adjustment:** TRAMO-SEATS+ (industry) and RJDemetra (services).
- **Sample:** ~14,500 enterprises for services (as of Jan 2026) and industrial enterprises with ≥20 employees (cut-off covering ≥70% sector turnover).
- **Administrative data integration:** Since January 2026, electronic invoicing and receipts data from Revenue Agency cover ~35.3% of services turnover weight, reducing survey burden by over 43%.
- **Revisions:** Most recent month provisional; typically revised next month. Volume indices for services may be revised up to 6 prior periods.
- **Release lag:** Approximately 60 days after reference period (February data released 28 April 2026).
