## Methodology
The FNB/BER Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) combines the results of three questions posed to adults living in predominantly urban areas in South Africa, namely:
1. Expected performance of the economy.
2. Expected financial position of households.
3. Rating of the appropriateness of the present time to buy durable goods (furniture, appliances, etc.).

Consumer confidence is expressed as a net balance (improvement minus deterioration). The indicator varies on a scale of -100 to 100.
