# Car Market Increased by 22.9%\* in March and by 0.3% in Q1 2026

According to the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee, total sales of new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in March 2026 amounted to 100,933 units.

According to the PPC\*\*, new car sales in March amounted to 102,077 units, which is **22.9% more than in March 2025**. In the first quarter of 2026, sales increased by **0.3%** compared to the same period of 2025, totaling 254,867 vehicles.

## Chairman's Comment

Chairman of the Automobile Manufacturers Committee, Alexey Kalitsev comments:

> “March demonstrated strong growth compared to the first two months of the year. However, the first quarter was characterized by only a slight increase in sales volumes of new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.
>
> We are observing market growth driven by the activation of deferred demand, as well as by news regarding an increase in the disposal fee for vehicles imported through EAEU countries. Despite this, the market continues to be influenced by global external factors and a high financial burden.
>
> Based on current trends, it is still premature to speak of any market turnaround. We will continue to monitor its development and regulatory measures that may affect future demand levels.”
