# Supreme Court Announces Friday First Day of Eid Al-Fitr

**RIYADH, March 18, 2026 (SPA)**

The Royal Court issued a statement today on behalf of the Saudi Supreme Court confirming the sighting of the Shawwal crescent.

The Supreme Court department, following a session held on Wednesday evening, 29th of Ramadan 1447H, reviewed reports of crescent sighting across the Kingdom. As the moon was not sighted on Wednesday evening, the department decreed that Thursday would complete 30 days of Ramadan.

Accordingly, the Supreme Court has officially announced that **Friday, 1 Shawwal 1447H (corresponding to March 20, 2026)** is the first day of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr.

The Supreme Court congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the government and people of Saudi Arabia, and the entire Muslim world on the arrival of the blessed Eid.

## Holiday Schedule

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) had previously announced that the official Eid ul-Fitr holiday for the private and non-profit sectors in the Kingdom would be for four days, starting from the end of the working day on Wednesday, 29 Ramadan 1447H.

*   **Eid Day 1:** Friday, March 20, 2026
*   **Eid Day 2:** Saturday, March 21, 2026 (Current Date)
*   **Eid Day 3:** Sunday, March 22, 2026
*   **Eid Day 4:** Monday, March 23, 2026

Normal business hours for these sectors are set to resume on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
