According to a report by TRT, Türkiye’s 2026 official and religious holiday calendar has been finalized. The schedule shows that several national and religious holidays will fall across weekdays and weekends, creating opportunities for extended leave periods and long-weekend travel for employees.

The calendar indicates that April and May will be among the most active periods in terms of public and religious holidays.

## Spring holidays stand out in 2026 calendar
The calendar confirms that National Sovereignty and Children’s Day will be commemorated on Thursday, April 23. Labor and Solidarity Day, which falls on Friday, May 1, will combine with the weekend to provide a three-day uninterrupted break for many workers. Commemoration of Ataturk, Youth and Sports Day will be marked on Tuesday, May 19.

## Religious holidays to be observed in March and late May
Dates for religious holidays were prepared based on information from the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet). Accordingly:

* **Ramadan Bayram (Eid al-Fitr)** will begin with Arife (Eve) on Thursday, March 19. The first day of the holiday will be observed on Friday, March 20, followed by the second and third days on **March 21–22**.
* **Kurban Bayrami (Eid al-Adha)** will begin with Arife on Tuesday, May 26. The first day of the holiday will fall on Wednesday, May 27, with the remaining days observed on May 28–30.

With several holiday periods positioned adjacent to weekends, employees may be able to extend these breaks through annual leave planning.
