# Producer price inflation, UK: February 2026

## Main points

* Producer input prices rose by 0.5% in the year to February 2026, up from a revised fall of 0.4% in the year to January.
* Producer output (factory gate) prices rose by 1.7% in the year to February 2026, down from a rise of 2.5% in the year to January.
* On a monthly basis, producer input prices rose by 0.8% and producer output (factory gate) prices fell by 0.5% in February 2026.
* The Import Price Index (IPI) rose by 0.3% in the year to February 2026.

## Input prices
The largest contribution to the annual input producer price inflation rate came from inputs of metals and non-metallic mineral products (+4.2%). The largest offsetting downward contribution came from crude oil (-12.6%).

## Output prices
The largest contribution to the annual output producer price inflation rate came from outputs of food products (+2.4%). The largest offsetting downward contribution came from coke and refined petroleum products (-8.6%).

## Weights
This month's PPI estimates are being published with updated weights in line with the annual chain-linking methodology.
